Some diners express concerns regarding wait times during busy hours, particularly on weekends when the restaurant fills up quickly. Occasionally, the bustling atmosphere might feel overwhelming for those seeking a quiet meal. A few patrons noted that while the quality is high, certain dishes may vary slightly in taste depending on the chef’s preparation that day. As with many hotpot places, cleanliness can also be a concern during peak times, with tables sometimes feeling rushed between groups. Accessibility to seating during busy timeframes can occasionally prove challenging, especially for larger parties looking to dine together.
Lucky Star feels exactly like a high-quality Hong Kong-style restaurant, or cha chaan teng, was plucked from Hong Kong and dropped right in the middle of Brighton. They serve extremely delicious and authentic food for very good prices and the staff are friendly and accommodating too. The other day, I grabbed some delicious pork knuckle soup from them to go and was also given some authentic Sichuan maa laat chilli oil which really elevated the whole dish. Other than that, every other time I've had food from them, it was fantastic. I often find myself craving food from them and can't recommend them highly enough. 好鬼好食.
The food were really delicious, very authentic Chinese restaurant with generous portion of the food, and affordable price. This restaurant is highly recommended. The staffs were very nice, and excellent service. When I asked for some tap water, the staff gave hot tap water for me, and cold for my family, amazing, I didn't even tell him that I wanted the tap water to be hot for me. Thank you very much for that.
Love the uncle who manage the restaurant very good at service. And always my favorite to go hotpot place in Brighton. Love the eat all you can part of the meal promo they have here. Very generous.
Incredible experience! The staff were very attentive and friendly. It was our first time trying Hot Pot, and the staff member was extremely welcoming, explaining everything with great care and patience, as well as being very kind. The food is amazing and offers great value for money. I highly recommend it!
Stopped by because my friend was hungry, it was good with great deals for lunch ! The meat is tender, as well as everything being flavorful with good portions and quality. Will be back again to try more! Edit: went back again, during dinner this time, they offer hotpot buffet but I declined and ordered sweet sour pork, kung pao chicken, etc. The sweet sour pork is the best. They perfected the velveting technique for meats!
Had some delicious hotpot which was perfect in the winter. All you can eat for £26 wasn't so bad (also comes with a side for 2 people!). The staffs were so helpful if you're a newbie with hotpot ;) Went here several times before for their a la carte dishes and I have no complains. Probably the best Chinese food restaurant in town!
We spent a lovely evening in this restaurant. There’s a wide choice of food! We ordered the spring rolls vegetables, pork dumplings, fried noodles with vegetables and sweet and sour chickens, everything was delicious. Special mention to the staff, who are adorable and take great care of you :)
